Im often bemused by righties on this page saying they are republicans but dont like the left leaning of this page. What sort of republican would be pro the Libs. The Libs are the main reason we dont have a republic because they wont provide anything even close to bi-partisanship on the subject. Do such righties want a republic or do they want to support the Libs? You cant have both. Further. We lefties should start accepting that Labor are far less than useless when it comes to the republic. Gillard,Albo and Shorten would all run a mile if the word was uttered in their presence. Which brings me to the point. How much do we lefties want a republic?. Labor will continue to let us down but the Greens would deliver a republic. Especially if they were the Govt and Labor were in opposition. DO WE REPUBLICANS HAVE THE GUMPTION TO VOTE FOR THE GREENS?. I dont think they would be the disaster that the rednecks say they would be.
