Im on my way to my 3rd meeting, 5th if I can count dropping my son off to work and grocery shopping. Yes, walking down Second, thinking if I could do a reality show, I would entitle it Behind the Scenes of Success. The goal would be to serve as a source of inspiration to those pursuing their dreams to never give up and to dispel the myths of overnight success. The evolution and public service trajectory that God has placed me on took lots of blood, sweat, sacrifice, tears and most important Faith. This time last year I remember considering relocating to DC. I was sent for twice by NEA for two different positions with two awesome interviews only to find myself stuck in a holding pattern. I just wanted to fix public education and after not seizing 1st place in my first election, I was willing to pursue whatever God had for me to get it done at the city, state or federal level. A reliable study indicates that the key to any individuals success is having 5 key members to serve as mentors, supporters etc. Today Im thankful for all of the great mentors, volunteers, supporters that make our efforts possible!
