Im proud to announce that The Last Plight, a new documentary made by Sargon Saadi, a 26 year-old Assyrian cinematographer, has won the Staff Picks award at the internationally renowned video-sharing platform, Vimeo. Mr. Saadi traveled from Chicago to Iraq in September, 2014 with the two film producers Sonny Sargon Rouel from Los Angeles, and Suzan Younan from Modesto to document the humanitarian crisis for our displaced people in Iraq. The funds that were distributed to our people during the trip were raised back when Mr. Rouel issued a challenge to match donations for up to $20,000 through the Assyrian Aid Society of America and reached a total of $40,000 within two weeks!
