On- or off-duty, one can see them youngster-soldiers in uniform armed with long-gun anywhere -- in malls, public transports, bus stations, etc. yet Ive never seen or noticed an air of arrogance about them, in manner, demeanor and speech; nor do they act superior when in uniform over civilians; nor do they appear cold-hearted despite being weathered from the frontlines in the battlefield. NOT ONCE. That makes a foreigner, who happens to witness the daily living there, to stop and think and rewrite his/her impression and assumption instilled from the outside world prior to coming to Israel.
