Im really amazed at how such a senior politician like Nawaz Sharif absolutely lacks political foresight. Everyone knew this was going to happen. Even shopkeepers were putting wagers on how long this government would go. Young and restless blood is fueling PTI, they were bound to become impatient. They just couldnt wait five years. They also feared that in five years, if Nawaz Sharif succeeded in ridding the country of electricity load shedding, the PML-N was bound to get the next government too. That is the main stimulus behind the current timing of the PTIs protest. All this could have easily been averted if Nawaz had only done what Obama did in his first government. He invited Hillary Clinton, his opponent, to join him in the government and made her the secretary of state. Similarly, if Nawaz would have offered Imran Khan the second most important position in the government and made him the foreign minister, IK would have been pacified and the government would have had no problems for the next five years from this quarter. Imran Khan has everything - money, fame and even something Nawaz doesnt have... women drooling at his feet :) - all he really wants now is power. Thats what Nawaz should have exploited.
