Im replaying Valkyria Chronicles now, and it immediately reminded me why I love this game so much. Its pretty much what youd end up with if Hayao Miyazaki made a World War 2 game, and is every bit as beautiful as that implies. The reason I dont like the sequels on PSP or the anime series are because they both miss just how gorgeous and affecting this game actually is. The PSP games both go for a more generic anime style that replaces the orchestral music with J-Pop and the anime is just a bad adaptation of the games story. The first game though ranks easily on my top 5 of all time. In fact, its second only to Homeworld for my all-time favourite. Ian Sackville-Baggins, play this game already!
