Im seeing a lot of interest in alternative sources of electricity. Ive been considering a building flexible fuel generator that would come in sizes of 100 watts to 1,000 watts and would run on any solid fuel, almost silently, just the noise a fire makes. Plastic bottles, wood, paper, coal, pretty much anything that burned. It burns its own smoke also, so its very efficient and doesnt create a visible smoke even when burning plastic. Or you could soak fat or any liquid fuel in paper etc and use that as well. I would design it so you could cook on top or boil water, etc while it was generating electricity. It would probably require outdoor use. The price would likely be about 3 dollars a watt, so a 100 watt unit would probably be about $300 and so on. It would likely need refueled about every 2 hours while burning wood, sticks, etc and every ten minutes while burning mostly paper, because of the lower energy density. It would be transportable by car, but probably too big to realistically be back packed. Anyone have any thoughts?
