Im so desperate!! I have been involved in rescue for 20+ years and get calls a of every kind. Approx 7-8 weeks ago an attorney friend contacted me about a client of hers. He reported to he his female Pit was closed in his house and had been for two weeks. She asked of I would mind checking on and watering the dog as needed. I have since been feeding the dog going on 2 months. Im a remote duty Paramedic and my job sometimes requires me to be away several weeks at a time. I will be leaving for 3wk in a week. The owner is not expected to be released ANY time soon in fact hes looking at another 3+ months in our county jail. I spoke with him last week and he agreed to surrender his dog to a rescue. His attorney and have surrender paperwork ready now we need someone willing to take her. She has not shown aggressive behavior but will not let me near her. I have no experience with removing a dog with this type of anxiety level and need assistance. If I involve our SO the dog will end up dead. They will shoot her, per past experiences. We do not have animal control so we are pretty much at your mercy or anyone that will help. If I do not move her soon she will starve to death in this house once I leave. No one is available to take care of her. FYI.. I have contacted SEVERAL Pit Bull rescues and have had no luck. Please help if you can.
