Im so sick of this bad joke of a country. My sister is a surgeon working in Mount Carmel and a nurse walked in to her operation last week and told her the hospital was closing as shed heard it on the news. What a way to treat the staff. Mount Carmel is a hospital, not a hotel! You dont just close hospitals without notice!! Honestly, if I heard this happening in a third world hospital I would be shocked, but here in Ireland? My sister says the atmosphere is so horrendous in there that she would be worried about some of the staff committing suicide. Patients and staff were bawling when they heard the news. Meanwhile the greedy bankers are still living in their big houses, riding it out. Why arent they in jail? In Finland and Iceland the bankers were jailed, so why not here? It beggars belief. The wrong people are suffering. It is beyond comprehension.
