Im sorry, but if you like to go fast, I just dont see the point in using a car to do it. Sure cars are practical and necessary for transporting lots of things or multiple people, they also are a lot easier to deal with in bad weather. But when it comes down to owning something for the sake of its sporting abilities, a car just is NOT the way to go. 1) Making them go fast costs A LOT of money. (a cheap one stock is still ~4x more expensive than a bike) 2) There are many more pieces to break when pushing it to the limit, and the reliability just is not comparable to a Japanese motorcycle. 3) They weigh too much. Its really hard to get something to carve up a corner, stop as fast, or accelerate as fast as a bike when it ways 3500 lbs. 4) Even if you are going as fast in a car, it doesnt FEEL as fast when you are in a metal cage sitting down vs. holding on to a rocket in between your legs. 5) Sportbikes and MX bikes are made from the factory to race, if you want to buy a car thats made to race, you have to either buy one that is already setup or spend at least double what you paid for it to make it race ready. 6) Anyone with basic mechanical abilities can learn to completely tear down a motorcycle with the right tools and a little internet forum consultation. Try completely rebuilding a car and youll end up with triple the tool costs and probably still not know what you are doing in the end, if you werent experienced to begin with. And the list could go on and on... but there are six good reasons that leave me wondering why someone would ever buy a car if they truly LOVE speed.
