Im sorry, this is excessive force. This unarmed man Eric Garner, lost his life because he was choked to death (a choke hold against the code of conduct, on the rule books for NYPD) by an officer who was sworn to serve and protect the people, not to choke out a man who was being arrested for selling cigarettes on the street. A man who pleaded with the officers, that he couldnt breathe. A man who had a family and kids. Please have compassion! My Father was a Police Officer, he never did this to anybody. I have many family members & friends who are Cops, they agreed this was excessive force. I went to college to be a cop, but changed my mind. (Because I knew it was a tough career) I know its a difficult job, but with this job comes good decision making requirements. Dont become a COP if you cant make good decisions, every time! This COP lost his job and rightfully so. (But maybe he shouldve never been a COP) He was with other officers and was the only one who put a bar arm against Mr Garners neck, he was the only one who pushed Mr Garners face into to the sidewalk. (Please look at the pics) Not everyone can be a Police Officer. You have to be special to be a cop!! I have talked to many cops who agree, that this was over the top and said they would never put their arms around a mans neck or smash their head into the sidewalk. This case is about police brutality & wrongful death. But this does not reflect upon all of the hard working good Police Officers through out these United States who risk their lives to protect us. But a man lost his life & the police should learn from this huge mistake. My thoughts and prayers for Mr Garners family.
