Im starting to get irritable about the internet. When it first started out, and Im old enough to remember, it was all about information. You could ask just about anything and get a good answer. Now, it is all about control. In order to get anywhere on just about any website you have to log in, set up a password, and get ready to be bombarded with advertisments. It has become one hell of a bunch of BS. I used to be able to search for someone and, if the information was available, it would get it without having to pay some fee. You could find a bunch of old friends and contact them easilly. It used to be that people would write to you and tell you things. Now, all they do is send you some video that you have to wait and wait to load. They are just bouncing things off of people without adding any of their own thoughts. Plus, you get the same crap over and over again from multiple sources. All of the Soap Opera, come ons that suggest some huge scandal turn out to be a bunch of nothing. They take you through their maze and if you dont download their viewing software you are lost in limbo eternally. Ive about had it with all of this crap and want to go back to simple emails without all of these exhausting attachments. I like jokes and get quite a few good ones and that might be the only saving grace.
