Im starting to lose a bit of faith. I have to get all of my depression, PTSD and transgender treatment from the states mental health agency. My doctor with the states mental health system was supportive of my transition and helping me to move forward. Then he quits and they assign me another doctor who says .... I cant make a recommendation for your surgeries, they dont pay me for that. We dont do that here. We dont write letters for that. So now I am in limbo. My therapist supports me, My general medical doc supports me though she is a nurse practitioner. I have some monies thanks to the fundraiser for surgeries but due to the subcontractor for the state basically deciding that it is not their job to recommend me for surgery. Medicare now covers the surgeries and they are paid by medicare but refuse to write the letter that is needed because WE dont do that.. He admits i have Gender Identity Disorder, need treatment and agrees with the diagnosis but will not make the recommendation for surgery. I am trapped in a special kind of hell where I should finally be able to get help as I have most of the money and the support but ignorance and discrimination on a institutional level is stopping it.
