Im starting to see post from people asking for help with Christmas which is fine and dandy. It just made me think of my experience with angel tree donations. One year I sponsored a needy family, I was able to meet the family and saw first hand they were in dire need of help so I was thrilled to help in any way possible. It was such a fulfilling experience that I decided to help again the following year. This next year I did not get a chance to meet the family prior to making the donation but based on my previous experience I assumed that whatever I had to donate would make a huge difference for a needy family so I didnt give much thought to not being able to meet the family prior to donating. I spent more than $250 to sponsor a needy angel tree family. I even wrapped the gifts and provided a gift card for the family to buy Christmas dinner at a local grocery store. On the day I had everything ready for the family to pick up, a lady showed up in a new BMW ( I didnt even have my own car at the time) and had I been a little older theres no way she would have walked out with all of those things, but I knew I made a promise to the family and kept my word even though the family was obviously better off than I was. So I want to encourage people to help truly needy people but beware of people looking for a free ride
