Im starting to think that what is going on currently is actually criminal, like properly evil...every single day the newspaers (I use the word advisedly) have another hate story about benefit scroungers and health tourists costing us hundreds of millions etc. The Government, (who are clearly feeding these stories through) are OBSESSED with getting us all obsessed with this and indeed *we* are. Id be terrified of a public lynching if I were collecting any type of benefit at the moment. Today we have the story of ONE woman who has managed to collect £100k over the years becuase she cant work because she is allergic to shoes. (I know! Genius!) I dont know about you but Im going to HUNT HER DOWN and wallop her children (of whom there are no doubt 43 by 76 fathers, all living in a mansion with 87 flat screened televisons. Turns out the health tourism stuff is BS anyway and the amount heath tourists bring in is EXACTLY the same as the amount that goes out so were quits. And the government are simply trying (and succeeding) to stir us up and make us ever more angry about immigration and immigrants and those at the bottom of the pile and more and more and more hating as a society and ever more distracted by this small, fankly irrelevent crap so that we dont dwell on the Really Big Stuff Which Is Actually Incredibly Important. The thousands of billions of pounds which are streaming out of this country in corporate and high end tax evasion (none of the very rich people I know pay any tax it seems) and Osborne and Cameron are currently taking the European Parliament to court so that we dont have to curb banker bonuses. Whilst telling old people to put a jumper on (and then no doubt solemnly and patronisingly reminding us on 11th November about how much we all owe the oldest generation and all they did for us). Im just nipping out to see if Russell Brand wants to marry me. Sick to my core. Sorry to rant on, I know its not particularly edifying. And breathe.
