Im still searching for a board certified veterinary behaviorist - TopicsExpress

Im still searching for a board certified veterinary behaviorist who will agree to consult with me about Hotstuff over the phone rather than in person. LSU is helping me with this process. They want to help Hotstuff in every way they can. So far, Ive been turned down because some require to meet personally with him. Im very definite on NOT traveling to a strange place far from home with him. If he freaks out on my driveway, then I dont want to entertain other freak out opportunities. One behaviorist told me she couldnt do it because she only consults in states where she is licensed. Lots of rules. Im hoping that considering our extenuating circumstances that someone will decide to work with us. I found one but she is booked until March and Hotstuff needs help NOW. We will keep trying! He has seemed more stressed over the past couple of days so he has begun an anti anxiety medication to help him to be more comfortable. Someone posted earlier this week that I only show hardship and that if I would only take the advice that people are giving to me then Hotstuff would be so much further along. Really? Guess what? This IS hard. Really hard. Im showing what is. Im reading everyones comments and considering if its right for Hotstuff. Ive tried many things that people have offered, so thanks for those comments. The professionals are telling me that I need to give him time, take it slow. One even told me that I may be trying to do too much too soon. I can understand that. Whatever is in Hotstuffs best interest is what Im after. I will fight hard to get him back to the happy go lucky dog he was before he was robbed of his vision. His Muffins Halo just shipped and I cant wait to get it! The goal for each day is to keep Hotstuff calm and stress free and keep the day full of good vibes!
