Im sure Im gonna get some backlash on this but here I go... It is easy to blame the shelters for killing so many animals but the real culprits are not them, its the people who surrender their pets. Yes, it is the very people who get a pet and decide that they dont want them anymore. They are the ones who are responsible for the deaths of these dog, cats, rabbits, pigs and any other animal turned in to a shelter. So to anyone who blames the shelters, sorry, they didnt come to your house and steal your pet and force you to throw them away! Spay/neuter/chip/ and TRAIN them if they need it!! Spend time working with them, love them and care for them and stop worrying about your couch, shoes or other crap getting destroyed, they are replaceable, not your pet!! Oh and my favorite one is, oh I am moving and they dont take pets. Yeah, go live in a box then.
