Im sure most of you are familiar with the post a photo of yourself not wearing any makeup to raise awareness for breast cancer thing thats been going around. A lot of my friends have done it, and I hope it DOES help in some way. I even parodied it, posting a photo of George Clooney. However I have 2 problems with it A) If its supposed to be raising awareness for BREAST cancer….wouldnt photos of the body part being discussed be more appropriate? Actually…..Ive seen campaigns to raise awareness of rectal cancer come through every once in a while…SCRATCH THAT IDEA….. 2) A friend of mine, Tanja McCallum said something that really made me think (she does that a lot). She said: its a little sad that going without make-up is scary or daring enough to get attention. Something wrong with the world when weve raised young ladies to think that showing themselves natural is living on the edge! It IS kind of sad. And for the record, my loverly wife Michelle only really puts on makeup if were getting gussied up to go out somewhere fancy (the kind of place where I have to put on CLEAN pants and such) or if shes dancing - but I dont think THAT counts because then its more of a costume thing anyways. So….to make things more interesting….women should start posting pictures of their husbands WITH makeup……just saying…
