Im sure that the fellow citizens of Shenandoah County are disgusted as I am over the sentencing of Helen Cockrell, (former) SAAA Director who was convicted of embezzlement. We MORE than agree with the comments made by Sonia Schelin when she stated that the sentence was no more than a slap on the wrist. Now, Cockrell wants to regain the trust of the community! Really? How many years did you steal from the SAAA and how much? Your lack of remorse and arrogance are stomach-churning, though Im sure you can still find a cushy job after youve served your sentence of a whopping 3 months! While many of us still go without jobs, Im sure your resume is more than impressive for any prospective employer, or perhaps the agency will still provide you with a healthy benefit package where you can start retire- ment, all the while sneering and thumbing your nose at an already flimsy excuse for a justice system in our county. Helen Cockrell, you are a pathetic, disgusting parody of a human being, and you can never hope to be anything other than a common, soul-less thief.
