Im sure this technology isnt far away... But notice how its test run is on an empty road/test track with NO other vehicles? The biggest problem that any automated vehicle will ever face is human/animal error that is totally unexpected..... What if a car swerved in front of it? A biker coming down the side unnoticed and the vehicle pulling out (whether motorbike or cyclist) Have you ever had a flock of geese/ducks/animal fly out from a hedge??... I have and missed every single one.. Could an automated lorry/vehicle do the same ... (Except Pheasant... We dont mind Pheasant..) What if it hits ice/snow? I think we are way off the mark for looking at automated vehicles.. And instead should be looking at ways that we can improve what we already have... We cant even get Trams to run without hitting things and causing chaos... Its just a thought people.......
