Im thinking of enrolling in a Drama Society. I believe that at my age, opportunities to become a really great performer on stage and screen are opening up daily. And, there is no downside, if I fail at acting I can always become a politician, because the politicians we have are so useless at what they do, failed actors could easily replace the clowns that are politicians today, and who knows, the very worst educated politicians could eventually become actors. Its a win win. The circle of life so to speak. Sorry, I digress! Back to my desire to become a movie star! Firstly, at my stage of life, choosing roles becomes quite simple. Youre either a grandfather in a family movie, a Mafia boss in an action movie, a Bob Newhart character in a comedy or a rich CEO of a major oil company in a financial crime movie. So I made a few calls, and it seems there is a potential role for me, (Only I can imagine how good I would be!!), as a president of a country, in a movie where that country has huge investment potential, but their credibility has been compromised by massive corruption greed and nepotism. The movie will be shot in a few selected areas of Switzerland, New York and London, but mostly, due to the fabulous geographical locations, South Africa. The idea behind the movie is to expose the current leadership, and to broaden the minds through advanced social media programs designed to create awareness of the fabulous world that awaits the population of the country in question, once the corrupt leadership has been chased out of their positions by the new wave of powerful thought provoking and innovative thinkers. In the movie, the new President takes command of the country and immediately takes stock of the situation: Border control: He closes the borders to all but people who are visiting to spend their money in the country. Sets up an immediate merit based municipality services program. He changes the voting system to a franchise vote (only people over the age of 18 with a minimum of a Grade 10) He immediately passes a budget that has 50% of all money spent to be on education. He invites foreigners and others to invest, not in their own selfish projects, but projects designed to provide access to all his countrys massive resources on a added value deal structure only. The President chooses men and woman who are all very educated in their portfolios, passionate about their communities, and hell bent of delivering success to their voters. In the movie the President himself is a humble and honest broker and a man who has full confidence in the new team and eventually swops his small Opel Astra for a 4 door VW Golf TDI to reward himself. Its not an easy role, but its worth applying for. Even if I dont get it, Im sure that there are a bunch of very capable actors who could make the role theirs!! Im hoping that just ONE guy with a slightly higher IQ than average will get not only the role, but a more permanent appointment!
