Im throwing this out to Facebook in hopes someone has some brilliant advice for us. When Wes got out of the military (Dec 11th 2013) our Tricare insurance stopped on Dec 15th (I thought it we were covered for the whole month). We had a two week period where we were uninsured waiting for my insurance to kick in. Of course, I got horribly sick and had to go to the hospital (and I was preggo). Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) sent me a bill for around $1500 but they did not try to run it through Tri-care. I called, they said they would run it. A month later I got a bill for $150.00 and I was so relieved it was covered. Well, I just got another bill for $325.63. It states Tricare didnt cover any of it but it has a $916.98 adjustment on it from Tricare. I called Tricare and they told me my coverage ended 12/15 and they wont pay any of it. OHSU told me that if Tricare didnt cover any of it then even if I pay the $325.63 they are asking for I will most likely get another bill saying oppps, we made a mistake....now you have to pay the rest. We now have BCBS. Has anyone ever heard of a grace period or some exception to where either company will cover an emergency? Tricare said no but I am hoping for some kind of loop hole somewhere....
