Im torn on this...I typically take selfies to either entertain other people (no really just look through how silly some of them are) or to document that I was at a place (I often go places alone). The statement that accompanied the photo was indeed in poor taste but how is a selfie like this any different than having someone take a picture of you with your camera so you can show people you were at a place? I tend to operate from a position that most people in the world dont act out of malice and typically these types of things are taken way out of context. But the question I pose is this...what makes a selfie different than any other form of touristy photo?
