Im trying to see the AP case through unbiased eyes. Im a Vikings - TopicsExpress

Im trying to see the AP case through unbiased eyes. Im a Vikings fan, and hes clearly been our MVP for years. Ive always liked him as a guy and a player... So heres my comparison take on it. Andre Johnson has been the MVP for the Texans (a comparable comparison on a comparable team). I dont love him as a guy or dislike him as a player- no feelings at all for him or the team aside from realizing that hes really good! If he had done exactly what AP did, I would be floored and somewhat appalled if his team or the NFL didnt suspend him. Looking at it objectively that way, it seems like I agree with what the Vikes are doing. More importantly, hopefully this high-profile situation causes a few changes in the way ALL Americans look at things. Hopefully we will all see that ANY hitting of a child is child abuse (switch, belt, slap, spanking, etc.) People will say Its how he was raised or well my parents did it. Yes, but your parents also sent letters via the mail, used a phonebook, didnt sit in a car seat, wore Chuck Taylors as basketball shoes, and bought encyclopedias. Times have changed and will continue to change. This is a change... Things are different in 2014 than they were in the 80s, 60s, 40s- thank goodness! Dont hit your kids! They are small people who look up to you, love you, and trust you implicitly! You go out of your way to keep them safe, why would you do ANYTHING that caused them harm and makes them cry! Put yourself in their tiny shoes for a moment, then try to tell me striking them is the best move! (If youre gonna comment, please do NOT specify that you spank your kids or physical cause them harm. Leave that part out so others who may be reading this dont rush to judgement). This is just my 2 cents as a parent, son, football fan, and former AP supporter.
