Im unsure where I stand on immigration... do we need more or less of it? What are your thoughts out there? On the one hand, I know that many of our crops would go un-picked, many of our houses would go un-roofed, etc. without immigrant labor (whether documented or undocumented). It just seems that unemployed Americans do not want to do this work. (yeah -- maybe roofwork at a better wage, but would Americans pick crops at any wage?). On the other hand, would a decrease in immigrant labor lead to higher wages and actually get unemployed Americans back to work in these less attractive jobs? And what would the impact of those higher wages be? Its a tough call. Would really love to hear your thoughts. (BTW -- Im less interested about legal vs. illegal... thats actually easy to fix with the right political will.
