Im very sad to report that I havent been able to feed the darling - TopicsExpress

Im very sad to report that I havent been able to feed the darling ducks in the morning for the past three days because of harassment that I have received from marina tenants. The boaters claim that the ducks make a mess of their boat(s) and dock(s). I own a boat and Ive never seen a duck hovering above and/or land on my dock, as they dont fly too well. Ive told the boaters. Why do you live in nature when you hate the wildlife? We are in their backyard, not the other way around! The duck-haters would bring more of their friends to harass me too. One of them said, If you continue to feed the ducks I will make sure that theyll no longer be here. I reported the threat to the Port Authority and Police, but both did nothing. Im heartbroken that I cant see my little feathered friends in the morning who line up for their cracked corn. A few of my local friends have suggested that I throw the feed in the grass during the middle of the night so that no one sees me, but why would I need to go to such extremes to give a little sustenance to the ducks? I hope that one day in the near future consciousness will change towards animals. Currently in the boating community, sea birds (ducks, pelicans, sea gulls, great blue herons...), sea lions, seals, etc. are considered pests as they poop, or get in the way (sea lions on docks), or eat fish. I watch boaters go out to sea and kill sea life to their hearts content and then cuss and sea birds and/or sea lions that beg from them. The selfishness is disgusting and appalling! Again, I hope that change is soon on its way. The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look on the murder of men. Leonardo da Vinci
