Im watching THE SIXTIES on CNN and its bringing back all kinds of memories! I was seven at the beginning of the sixties, and I turned seventeen in 1969. Im thinking of all the fads we had back then, from cinnamon toothpicks to tennis sweaters to pea coats. Some were not important to me, but others I had to have, like mohair sweaters in pastel colors in the sixth grade. We would pick off balls of fibers from the sweaters trade them, and make make collections in little jewelry sized boxes! My brother had to have a pair of sansabelts in junior high. There was the stocking cap fad; the longer, the better! Any more???
