Ima be real. Take it as you want to. Many African immigrants in America/Europe especially have now spoken up about the stigma being experienced because of the coverage and histeria centered around ebola. I will say this: BECAUSE so many did not want to embrace the ACTUAL TRUTH about the ORIGIN/MANUFACTURING of Ebola OUTSIDE of AFRICA, in the beginning, gave so much PLAYING ROOM and LIBERATION for media pundits and outlets to perpetuate the narrative that ebola came from Africa, when in fact it DIDNT! THEY told you that thinking outside of the box like that was counter productive to the fight against Ebola. THEY told you that such thinking was conspiracy (whatever that means). THEY told you that it was ludicrous for you to question what they were telling you, EVEN when their stories seemed questionable in many instances! We left them free to dictate THEIR OWN narrative to the masses instead of ASKING the NECESSARY QUESTIONS TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE NARRATIVE AND GET TO THE BOTTOM OF IT. The masses of people (non Africans) are only responding to the fear and misinformation that was spread UNCHALLENGED by those who KNEW better or simply did not want to face reality. Is there any immediate lessons to be learned? Africans have to start examining issues from their OWN cultural/political/social lenses, rather than following the tides of propaganda promoted by foreign media. Think for yourself, Africa(ns).
