Imagine my disappointment when I sat up in bed with curious surprise, still in early morning Radio 4 slumber, to hear that I had landed a new job without even applying for it - only to discover there are actually two of us. Just think of the mischief I could have made. First call would have been an early morning brandy with Monsieur JC Juncker, followed by some strategic drawing pins on the parliamentary seat of Nigel Farage. Och well, radio off - back to reality.
