Imagine this: a keyboard split into two. Im pretty sure those are already invented. Its split perfectly so that the keys meant to be hit with the left hand and the right hand are on two different keyboards that work in tandem as one. You can shift the keyboard around until it perfectly fits your position ergonomically. In the future, these devices may even be commonly used as projected images on whatever surface youre using. If youre like me though, you may prefer the satisfactory sound and feel of the keys being pressed down as you type. Another feature of these high tech keyboards could be a custom fit. Youd go to a specialist, where you would have your hands and maybe even your posture and other things that affect your typing, such as height and distance from shoulder to elbow, etc. profiled to create the perfect keyboard for your body. The prerequisite of perfect? You choose. Whats the goal? Ease of use, of course. As a writer, the less you have to think about what you are doing, the quicker thoughts can be transcribed. Of course, gamers would come with their own specific set of goals in mind. The perfect keyboard may come with suggestions for desk height, chair placement if you decide to use a chair (standing desks are awesome), and more to completely optimize your keyboard experience.
