Imagine waking to cook breakfast with flour sourced either from Meru arrowroots, or Bondo sweetpotato, and you sweeten it with cheese from Turkana and that dairy cow in your village in a sufuria or pan made by a village polytechnic. Imagine the sauce you use on that plate of chips coming from a factory in Njambini, while villages in coast and Eastern supply mango juice whilst cane farmers in Western dont rely on companies to give us sugar? It is village industries, through value addition, that will curb pitiable farm gate prices for farm produce and set Kenya on a course of industrialization. Luckily, the chamber of commerce is geared toward promoting inter county trading and promoting the Agribusiness sector, of which, the latter, - the govt of Kenya, Min of Agri, L & F and bodies such as USAID are actualising.
