Imam Khamenei Underscores Failure of US Malicious Policies in World Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that the US has failed in its hostile policies towards the Iranian nation and the other world countries, saying the developments in the world are no more in favor of Washington. Addressing a huge crowd of people in Iran’s northeastern holy city of Mashhad on the occasion of the new Iranian year on Friday, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted Washington’s dismal failures to achieve its desired objectives. “The realities on the ground in the international community are not in line with the Americans’ demands and intentions,” the Leader said in his annual speech at the beginning of the new Iranian year, which coincides with Nowruz. Enumerating the US continued failures in recent years, Ayatollah Khamenei underlined that the White House’s plans for the Judization of Palestine lies in tatters. “They (US officials) want to turn the Palestinian country into a Jewish state, meaning the Palestinians, either Muslim or Christian would not be entitled to live inside Palestine,” the Leader explained. The US has pursued that plot and has also made much effort, but it failed, the Leader pointed out. Ayatollah Khamenei also pointed to the other cases of US failure in carrying out its vicious plots, contending that Washingtons plans ended in failure in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and most recently in Europe. As regards the US inability to harm the Iranian nation and the Islamic Revolution after 30 years of enmity, the Supreme Leader emphasized that Iranians’ steadfast presence in various events in the country is a clear sign of Washington’s lack of success. The US officials have explicitly announced that the main purpose behind imposing sanctions against the Islamic Republic was to instigate street protests and to root out the Islamic Revolution, the Leader stated, but at the same time noted that the Iranian nation’s crushing response to such futile efforts was the eye-catching turnout in the presidential election and the massive, nationwide presence in the February 11 demonstrations to mark the victory of the Islamic Revolution. Ayatollah Khamenei also praised the high turnout of more than 72 percent in the presidential election on June 14, 2013, describing that as a sign that “religious democracy” has been institutionalized in Iran. And as regard the main motive behind the massive rallies on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Leader said it was due to the US officials’ insulting and impolite language in talking to the Iranian nation. “The people wanted to prove that they are deeply interested in the Islamic establishment and the Islamic Republic and the raised flag of Islam,” Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
