Imkaan serves as a refuge for abandoned babies. Our team of community workers and volunteers, staff small one room baby safety offices in many low income communities. Abandoned babies left here or found in the neighbourhood are immediately taken for medical care at our partner hospital and when stable are housed at the Imkaan Ghar. Imkaan’s ultimate goal is to ensure that these children are adopted into loving homes and we have an extensive screening process for potential parents. We guide parents through every aspect of adoption whether it be legal, medical or emotional to ensure that children find their Forever Families.
