Impaired Driving: On June 20th, 2013 at approximately 10:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Cannon Street and Hughson Street to investigate an intersection related collision. One of the vehicles entered the intersection at a high rate of speed against the red light and collided with a vehicle traveling northbound. Once police were on scene the driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested. The driver was taken to hospital where a breathalyzer test was given. The driver blew over the legal limit. The 29-year-old Hamilton woman was released on a Promise to Appear with a charge of Impaired and Over 80 mg. Drivers and passengers in other vehicle taken to hospital for minor injuries. Impaired Driving: On June 20th, 2013 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Hamilton Police were conducting RIDE Lanes in the area of King Street East at the Red Hill Valley Pkwy and a car entered the lanes. The driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested and taken to the police station for a breathalyzer test. The driver blew over the legal limit. The 46-year-old Hamilton man was released on a Promise to Appear with a charge of Impaired and Over 80 mg. House Fire: On June 20th, 2013 at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Hamilton Police Service responded to assist the Hamilton Fire Dept with a house fire on Lambert Street. The homeowner was home when he heard a crackling noise from the backyard. The homeowner observed a fire at the rear corner of his home but it quickly spread. He escaped the home unharmed and called 911. The reporter is the homeowner, and sole occupant, of the above mentioned address. On this date, he was in his house when he heard a cracking sound from the backyard. When he investigated, he observed a fire at the rear corner of his house. The fire spread quickly and was extinguished by HFD. The OFM had been notified and are responding as the fire is undetermined. Truck Fire: On June 21st, 2013 at approximately 3:00 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a truck fire parked beside a home on East 9th Street near Brucedale Avenue. The truck was fully engulfed upon arrival. Once extinguished, investigators observed damage to the siding of two houses on either side of the truck. No one was injured. HFD deemed the fire to be undetermined and have contacted the OFM.
