Impatient children are more likely to become lawbreakers! At least that is what new research of the universities of Stockholm and Maastricht suggests. Kids who are unable to delay rewards are also more likely to become criminals later. Moreover, higher educational attainment was linked to a preference for delayed gratification. The researchers therefore suspect that schooling can deter people from crime by making them value the future more.
