Impeachment: Plateau Speaker knows fate Tuesday Written by Isaac Shobayo - Jos DESPITE several interventions to save the Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. John Clark Dabwan from impeachment, eighteen lawmakers after his removal still remained adamant, saying the embattled speaker must go. Sunday Tribune learnt that since the 18 lawmakers, out of the twenty four members of the House signified their intention to effect a change in the leadership of the House over allegation of insensitivity to the plight of members of the Assembly, incompetency among others, the Speaker had been making frantic efforts to wade off the tide against him. A source close to the government in the state revealed that some of the lawmakers trying to thwart the impeachment plot had also joined the speaker by sending emissaries to some of the arrow heads of the plot to sheath their swords and also Governor Jonah Jang and other top PDP leaders for their intervention.
