Important Economic Event: US Core Durable Goods Orders (MoM, Oct) & Initial Jobless Claims - 13:30 GMT, 26 November 2014 Wednesday saw stronger GDP data, but weaker consumer confidence from the US. Despite that, the #USD fared well, alongside a statement made by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development about global economy mending slowly in the next two years coming. Whilst there will be a bulk of economic data announced at the same time this Wednesday, the Core Durable Goods Orders and Initial #Jobless Claims data usually have a greater weight on the USDs movements. Whilst the former records the difference in total value of new purchase orders of long-lasting manufactured goods (excluding transportation items like aircraft), the latter records the number of people who applied for unemployment insurance for the first time in the past week. Both figures are expected to move positively: -0.1% to 0.5% and 291K to 287K respectively. If data is as expected or better, it may motivate the USD to move upwards.
