Important day, this March 28! First, its Brocades B-day, she turns 5 and can be considered fully mature by now. She has changed after the litter and looks no longer like a youngster.... Second, I had made an appointment for Yasera & Sparkle to have their hearts tested. For Yasera because she is now 12 and for Sparkle, prior to her moving to Sweden as I did want to know for sure her heart was ok. The fact that Sparkle would not move to Sweden was no reason to skip the test as I wanted to know if I could keep her or not. So we set out this morning, to Austerlitz where the German cardiologist does her examinations twice a year. Because of the great weather we were a bit early so there was time for a nice stroll around the Pyramid of Austerlitz (erected in memory of that battle), see Cates pics. After that we went for the examinations, first Yasera, then Sparkle. Yasera was a model dog, laying down, her legs being stretched so the dr. could do the ultra sound while the clips for the ECG were attached. Miz Yasera hardly moved a whisker but was happy once the dr. was done. I exchanged her for granddaughter Sparkle, who was not convinced at all this hustle and bustle was nice or necessary ;-) I feared she would not cooperate as it was all completely strange to her but apart from screaming bloody murder when the ECG clips were attached (and removed, typically Borzoi ;-) ), she behaved like a seasoned Silken, also hardly moving a whisker! Result from all the testing: both girls passed with flying colours! The cardiologist was quite impressed by miz Yasera, a dog of 12 with no problems of the heart valves (or anything else), NICE! So a compliment for the breeding of Francie Stull! Dr.Vollmer was also pleased to have the 3rd generation (Sparkle) and be able to declare her fully healthy as well ;-) So now we can present the newest member of the pack: Bon Zoiz Summer Sparkle, the 2nd generation to continue breeding with in a few years!
