Important information – 8/17/13 to 8/24/13 Hello everyone!!! I hope your last couple days are going well!! I have some very important information to give you about the upcoming week. 8/17/13 – Black Forest Parade Please refer to the previous message regarding meeting times, dress, etc. PLEASE be sure to email me by tomorrow at 3:00 PM if you are planning on meeting us there!!! If meeting us there, be sure you have your instrument. You are responsible for your own! If you need to come to school to get it, the room will be open tomorrow and I will be here until about 3:00 PM. Also, please be sure that if you do not have “Louie, Louie” memorized you have a flip folder and a lyre for the parade. Everyone MUST have a music plan!! 8/19/13 Color Guard – sectionals 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Welcome freshmen!!! Come say hi…I’ll be here!! 8/20/13 – First Day with all students Winds and drumline – Mrs. Wheeler has asked the band to perform as students walk into the assembly. Please come right to the band room when you arrive at school. We will be playing pep tunes and we want to be set up to perform by 7:35 AM. Please try to get to school by 7:15 AM. I know some buses come a little later, but just get to the gym ASAP. As soon as we are done playing you will be able to go to your class sitting area if you would like. You can also stay where you are and that is ok too! We will NOT go outside on the first day. Just so you can plan your wardrobe! ☺ 8/21/13 We WILL be going outside! Please make sure you have the appropriate footwear. Barefoot is NOT appropriate. Feel free to bring shoes to march in and leave them in your locker!! Percussion sectionals – 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE OUR USUAL EVENING REHEARSAL THIS DAY. Back to school night is this evening so we will not be able to rehearse. I’m disappointed that we will be missing this rehearsal, but back to school night is the priority. Wednesday rehearsals will begin 8/28/13. 8/24/13 – Saturday rehearsal Saturday rehearsal schedule begins! 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM – Lunch will be 11:30 to 12:30. If a permission to leave campus form has already been turned in, you are all set. Please be very aware of the time for lunch so we can start right on time.
