***** Important warning for my FBFs. ***** Watch your junk mail closely. An unmarked envelope showed up today. Inside, a letter thanking me for signing up for ebooklifestyle, and giving me my account name (my name with no space) and password (my zip code). Also noting I would be billed monthly starting 3/24/2014 for $24.95 per month on my credit card ending in XXXX (with the correct last four digits). This was probably a small check box somewhere on a vendor web page I visited that I did not see. I am usually good at looking for those things, and no longer visiting websites that do that, but I could have missed one. It could also be the X kill button on a pop-up; unless it is the Windows kill button, that button can be programmed to do anything. But it was probably an on-line vendor, because they got my name and credit card info. It could also be from the Target info theft. Anyway, they note that I can cancel at any time, but if I want to continue with their service, I need do nothing, theyll just bill me monthly. I went to their website and tried to sign in: no such account. Any bets that wont keep them from billing me? So check your junk mail. If you get this letter as well, call your credit card company and tell them you did not sign up for this thing, it is a scam, not a legitimate vendor, and ask for the vendor to be sanctioned, such as being put on fraud watch, where every time they try to bill anyone, that person gets a phone call to validate the charge. Also, if you get this letter, watch your credit card on your banks website, and watch for the charge to appear, then immediately call and contest it. Feel free to copy and paste this to your status to warn all your FBFs. Lets get the word out, and spike these turkeys.
