Any vaastu or designing problems in this part of the house can pose a problem for member of the family. The lady of the house spends most of her time in this part of the house. Therefore, vaastu dosh in this part of the house will have great impact on her health. If this has a negative impact on her health it will start showing on the well-being and health of other family members in the house and will also impact their daily routine. Food is very important for us. It gives us energy and helps in the growth of our body. However if the same food that we are eating starts giving us negative energies instead of the positive energy in that case instead of good health we will start having different kind of diseases. This will negatively impact our life and we will not be able to complete any task with fines’. In many houses no attention is paid to the vaastu of kitchen. It’s just that a corner of the house is chosen for cooking food. But in such houses the vaastu of the kitchen takes a hit and it negatively impact the members of the house. As compared to the olden days kitchens today has lot of furniture’s and other gadgets. Normally a kitchen today has a stove, platform, furniture, utensils and cutleries, refrigerator, sink, exhaust, chimney, hot case, Microwave oven, electric mixer, water filter etc. All these things should be kept at an appropriate place. Direction for your Kitchen Having your kitchen on the south eastern part of the house is considered supreme. No matter what the direction of the house is the kitchen can be built in the south eastern part of the house. Direction of the doors and windows of your kitchen Direction for the kitchen slab The kitchen slab where the stove for cooking is to be placed should be in the eastern part so that the person cooking food faces the eastern side. And the other part of the slab should be in southern part. Position of the furniture’s in the kitchen The wooden cabinet for keeping various things in the kitchen should be made in the southern part of the house. Southern part of the kitchen is where the refrigerator should be kept. The utensil hangar can be placed on the eastern side. Hot cases, Microwave oven and other gadgets meant for heating or cooking should be placed on the southern part of the house. If you get a loft built in your kitchen it should be in the southern or western direction Position of other important things in the kitchen Place the chimney on top of the gas burner. Exhaust fan should also be placed on the wall which is in front of the gas stove. The potable water dispenser should be placed in the south eastern direction. Any water dispensers or RO should be placed in the eastern or south eastern direction of the house. Electrical gadgets should be placed in the southern part. Colour of the walls in the Kitchen The walls of the kitchen should be of dark colour because they are likely to get dirty. Dark colour is favorable because it helps in keeping her good temperament. A kitchen is built with high principle but in case the kitchen is not situated in the right direction in this case the vaastu dosh of such kitchens can be overcome through the primary principals. ♣ The platform in the kitchen holds a special significance and it is built to keep the gas stove. Normally, in every kitchen the platform of the kitchen is made in an L shape which occupies two different directions. Platform should always be built in the east and southern direction. The gas stove should be placed in such a way so that the person cooking the food is facing eastward. ♣ Apart from this building a platform in any other direction is not considered auspicious. In some kitchen the platform is built in the center of the kitchen in this as well the person cooking the food should ensure that he/she is facing eastward while cooking. Such platforms are not considered auspicious according to vaastu. But in big cities because of lack of space such platforms are built in the kitchen. To remove the Vaastu dosh of kitchens with center platforms a mirror should be placed in the eastern direction of the kitchen or just in case if the platform is built in any other direction the same remedy would work out perfectly there as well. ♣ The position of the sink in your kitchen should be in the south east corner. Apart from this the sink can be placed in the north or eastern part of the kitchen. The sink is built in the kitchen to wash the used utensils and cutleries. You also need to ensure that you have different kinds of sinks and you do not use the same sink for washing the dishes. If possible the sink for washing dishes should be built/placed outside the kitchen or if built inside, should be dedicate used for washing dishes only. This type of sink can be positioned in the ethereal or Northern direction of the kitchen. ♣ The chimney in the kitchen is generally placed over the gas burners. Placing this in this order is considered supreme. And if exhaust fan is used it should be placed on the eastern wall. In the past the kitchen of the houses had a chimney on the roof top from where the smoke and other residue could escape. And therefore such chimney should also be placed in the igneous corner as well. ♣ The facility for drinking water should also be created or kept in the south eastern direction of the kitchen. If you are getting a RO or water filtering device fixed make sure it is placed in the east or northern part of the kitchen. ♣ The position of the fridge in the southern part of the kitchen is considered auspicious. If it is not possible to place the refrigerator in this direction it can be kept in the northern or western direction as well. ♣ The electrical gadgets like hot cases, microwaves, mixers etc. should be placed in the igneous corner or the southern direction. It is not considered auspicious to keep these electrical gadgets in the eastern, southeastern or northern direction. ♣ For keeping the containers used for storing the raw items like, spices, flour, pulses, tealeaf, sugar etc. the cupboard for these containers should always be built in the southern or western direction. If it is not possible to keep these items in these directions they can also be placed in the ethereal. These containers should never be kept in the eastern or igneous direction. ♣ If there is a store room which is built adjacent to the kitchen in that case the best direction to build this is in the ethereal. Besides this direction the store can also be built in western direction as well. Never get a kitchen store built in the eastern, south eastern or igneous direction. ♣ Make sure that you do not have beam or cross on the burner of the stove. If you have any of these on the stove it is important to make changes in the position of the platform and stove. ♣ Fresh fruits and vegetables which are not kept in the refrigerator should always be kept in the ethereal. ♣ The windows in the kitchen should be in the eastern or northern direction. If you have windows which are in the southern or western direction they should generally be kept closed. ♣ The kitchen should always have a square/rectangular shape. If there is some corner which is bigger or smaller it is not an appropriate. In such case such corners should not be used. ♣The door to kitchen should always be in the eastern or northern direction. The doors of the kitchen should not be parallel and opposite to one another. The doors of the kitchen and wash room opposite one another are considered highly inauspicious. ♣ The kitchen and the toilet have a common wall it is considered inauspicious. If this is the situation which has arisen in your house make sure that you do not get the kitchen platform built on this wall. ♣ If you are creating a loft in your kitchen the best direction to get this built would be southern or western direction. Make sure that you never keep broken utensils and junk in your kitchen. ♣ The walls of the kitchen should be painted with dark colours because they get dirty very soon. The colour of the wall should also be favorable to the lady who generally uses the kitchen because she is the one who spends most of her time in the kitchen. ♣ You should never have your place of worship (Puja ghar) in the kitchen this is considered highly inauspicious. Doing so will create a rift between the family members. Kitchen is supposed to be the house of fire. Combing fire and prayers is not considered auspicious. ♣ The doors of the kitchen should not open in front of the bedroom; study etc. if this is happening people living in the house are negatively affected. ♣ If both dining area and the kitchen have to be built together in this case the dining area should always be in the western direction. ♣ Cupboards and hangars for keeping the utensils should always above the kitchen platform which is in the eastern and southern direction only. It should not be built in the southeast corner or on the northern walls. ♣ Kitchen of the house should always be built in the igneous corner. If it is not possible to build it in this corner it can be made in the southern or eastern direction. Kitchen built in the southeastern corner, ethereal corner, or northeastern corner is highly inauspicious. If you have such kitchen make sure that you rebuild your kitchen. And if it is not possible take care to design and follow the rules this will bring down the vaastu dosh of the kitchen.
