In 1968, Bobby Kennedy went to Indianapolis as part of his presidential campaign trial. Upon landing, he discovered that MLK Jr. had been assassinated. Instead of going to the campaign location, he went to a rally in a black neighborhood, against his staffs and the police chiefs recommendation. He refused notes from his speechwriter and wrote his entire speech on the ride there. The aftermath of Kings assassination, in nearly every other major city including Louisville, was riots. Most of these neighborhoods have yet to recover. Indianapolis, already angered by police brutality within the city, did not riot. Sometimes the strongest action is not taking any action. youtu.be/BCrx_u3825g
