In 1976, I was a sophomore in high school at St. Peters Prep and we went on a class trip to Florida. In Miami, I had the chance to see Joan Rivers at the Fountainbleu Hotel. She asked me what was I doing in Florida. I told her about the class trip. She then took me and my friend to nearby Pumperdinks Deli and bought us sandwiches. I bought a copy of her book and had her sign it for my mother and sister. She was so wonderful to meet. I never forgot that. My sister pulled the book out today to see it as a tribute to the talented and funny Joan Rivers who died today. Thanks for being so nice to the blond headed goyum from Jersey City. RIP
