In 1982, the Iranian representative to the United Nations, Said Rajaie-Khorassani, said that the Declaration was a secular understanding of the Judeo-Christian tradition which could not be implemented by Muslims without conflict with Sharia Law Well I suppose Khorassani raised a good point; what we collectively term as humanism today is basically a secular spin of Christianity. If humanism came out of Christianity; then I believe all of us following the original source itself should aim to exercise a higher form of grace, kindness and respect than humanism has sought to bring. In that respect, I was myself, very far from perfect.
