In 1991/92 political struggles & subsequent gubernatorial election in Taraba state in which Rev. Jolly Nyame won & became the first civilian Governor. Almost all politician in that axis believed that Atiku Abubakar was the godfather & sponsor of Jolly Nyame after he Nyame served as Turakis coordinator in Gongola state. Turaki remain a factor & godfather to Nyame uptil 1999 when both of them return as governors in Adamawa & Taraba. Later Atiku was pulled out to be VP to Obasajo. It is interesting to know that in the cause of their tenure...Nyame...godson & Atiku.... godfather were not in talking term as it was in the beginning ,the situation was too bad as they both part ways politically. Now what do you call this ...A betrayer ? Then Jolly did his best to fix Baido who is his political godson after his tenure in 2007 but Fate & Destiny did not go down well with Nyames plan as God destined that its Danbaba Suntai that will governed the state.Every enlighten Tarabian knows that Danbaba did not show any interest in the PDP gubernatorial contest of 2007, in fact he did not even contested for the primaries. But God Almighty decided & use Nyame to make him the Governor of Taraba state. Danbaba remain very loyal to his godfather Nyame until problem struck between them & they became arch rivals in such a way as both want to see the downfall of each other.They part ways as the godfather left PDP for ACN where he contested for senator & lost. Almost all the political class in Taraba State knew the crisis between godfather & godson before the plane crash,it wasnt a hidden case. Now ,is that a betrayal or what can we say..? Then there came the Danbaba reign of 2011 till date. It started with Danbaba/ Sani Danladi. Sani Danladi was impeached because his Boss said he lost confidence in him. But Sani uptil today believed that he was too loyal to his Boss that made him matched his master & mentor who brought him to limelight....Danladi Baido. Now is this a betrayal or what..? Then Garba Umar UTC was picked single handed by Danbaba himself . All was too well between the two. I mean the governor & his trusted deputy after the impeached Sani Danladi. Then there came the unfortunate plane crash where the governor sustain head injuries. The problem started when some pple refused to allow the deputy to perform in acting capacity until until much water passed under the bridge. That was the starting point. It could well be agreed that there wasnt any problem between Danbaba & Garba Umar from the beginning until the plane crash & uptil now the acting governor insisted that Danbaba is his Oga & if he is well he will handover to him. Now is this a betrayal or what will you say about...? Let me also add before I forget that,Atiku who was picked by Obasanjo to be his running mate,& which they won 99 & 2007 as president & Vice President were also not on talking term before the expiration of their tenure. Meaning they part ways politically. Now tell me please & please... What is betrayal in the game of politics & What does betrayal mean in political context ? Who is betrayal & who is not betrayal with the facts above?
