In 1995 I was the tour manager of Soungarden, who at that time where regarded as one of the coolest bands and at the peak of their success. The band were offered a chance to appear on Saturday Night Live. Soundgarden always turned down TV offers but as the special guest host that week was Jim Carey who was at that time probably one of the biggest movie stars in the world, the band agreed to appear. We were all briefed by the producers of the show not to ask Jim for photos or autographs. Well the night of the show Jim walked into the bands dressing room and just started chatting and hanging out. I was with Monica and Zach who at that time was only 3 months old. Despite being asked not to ask Jim for photos and autographs, I decided that I wanted a photo with Jim and Zach. Jim graciously agreed immediately and Monica handed Zach to Jim for the shot. Kevin Westenberg the photographer with us prepared to take the photo but there was a focus issue and it took a few seconds longer than normal.....Zach felt the separation anxiety kicking in and was just about to start crying as you can see from his expression as the shot was taken. I asked Jim if I sent him the photo, would he sign it to Zach and return it back to us. Hopefully you can see what he wrote on the photo, but in case you can not what he said was.....There is nothing to fear in life except whats under the bed. Classic. Anyway....now flash forward 18 years and we are in Steven Tylers dressing room at the Forum in LA and standing right there is Jim Carey who I had not seen since that day in 1995. I reminded him about the incident and he totally remembered it and then we took the shot you see below. Just amazing and I wanted to share that memory with you all. As you will see Jim looks just the same.
