In 1996 Pfizer was forced to pay $75 million in compensation to families in Nigeria for administering an unregistered drug to children in Kano, Nigeria during a meningitis outbreak. Its 2014 now and Africans are clamoring to be given the unregistered Ebola drug that was recently given to two American doctors during a current Ebola outbreak. How do you reconcile both cases? Answer: You dont...You cant.. Because biting the hand that fed you is generally bad for your health..literally. . My sympathy goes out to people affected by Ebola ..but asking for an unregistered drug from people you sued in the past is barking up the wrong tree. nytimes/2011/08/12/world/africa/12nigeria.html?_r=0
