In 2 hours and 9 minutes it will be one year that Beaufort/Beautiful/Trench was rescued from a local animal shelter (4:09pm). I pleaded with the Mama Petunia followers to help me save his life. Thank you Danielle, Bridget and Alana for loving him as I did (do). I couldnt be happier about where he ended up. His forever Mom is right, life is perfect. A note from Alana, his forever Mom. My friend Sarah Santa Maria sent me the first video of Jarkko posted on FB & my heart melted. Realistically, I knew it was a stupid time to even think about getting another dog (with work being soo crazy), but honestly, after we had Chimi for a couple months, I knew I wanted another dog! Anyways, I had fallen in love w/ Jarkko, but I didnt have any real plans on making him mine (ours) but Sarah kept sending me pix & kept me updated on his dramatic story. He came into the shelter w/ a broken leg, then he was adopted out by the shelter to a family & ultimately returned, then Its a Pittie (you, Danielle & Bridget) got him out & into foster care & I knew I had to have him (even if it was going to make my life a lot more hectic/crazy/busy for a bit). My parents & my sister & even my fiancé Keith all had some reservations - as they knew how many hours I had been working & they knew how much work introducing a new dog into a family can be -- but luckily, once I set my mind to something, reason & logic dont deter me........Jarkko & Chimi got along fabulously right away, so that was no problem whatsoever - but Jarkko, the 60lb lil hippo didnt know how to do stairs. So for the first 3 days, I carried him up & down our two flights of stairs (our townhome is 3 stories high) By the fourth day my patient fiancé Keith taught Jarkko how to go up & down stairs & my back/legs/arms were soooo thankful! Unfortunately, housetraining Jarkko took a little longer! But all the time & work was totally worth it as I cant imagine our lives without him. He is such a happy, snuggly, hilarious lil hippo & everyone he encounters just loves him. I bring him to work once or twice a week & I can tell you my co-workers just love Jarkko day at work! His silly jaunt/run & adorable little face just crack up the office! He really does brighten up a room - you cant help but smile when Jarkko is around! Now that we have him, our little family is complete! Thank you. - life is perfect!
