In 2008 Heiruspecs invited me to be a part of a song on their upcoming album. The band had the music laid down all ready, and Felix organized a writing session with me, Dessa, and himself over at the Arcadia on the corner of Riverside and Cedar. The topic we cam up with was change, which for me reflected the space because the Arcadia location used to be the Riverside Cafe, the place where I put on my best concerts as a teenager. While Dessa and Felix handled the chorus and split the beginning, Heiruspecs bass player, Twinkie Jiggles, probably understood my skills and limitations better than anyone else, so he had me fill the third extended verse. Working on the words at my crib, I got slightly frustrated with trying to find the beat, but in the studio Twinkie and the Joe the engineer gave me the confidence to find it. A local singer/song writer Ashley Gold gave me a compliment on my verse once that made me feel like had gotten it right. So focused on figuring it out myself, it was way after the song was released until I really really really listened to Dessa and Felixs verse.
