In 2010 I found myself in a quandry with my life after finding Two Tone the countries largest fish dead! I decided I was going to take a break from fishing having put a lot of travel and time into pursuing the counties carp record on the famous Conningbrook lake. With my return to angling I had a target fish to go at, this was on a very hard water called Marton Hole. Its a perculiar lake not highly pressured but uniquie in its own right. The first year I done 10 trips 2012 was the year, fishing fornightly from June having two originals two stockies and two fish lost 2013 I turned 40 and knew i could not put all my focus into Marton Hole as I would be out of the country. I managed 4 trips landing one stockie, now determined to return the following year. Fishing from 1st June till December 2014. on the 18th trip the date being the 15th october I had landed three stockies and lost one. The 18th trip was an epic trip for me landing the northwests largest leather carp at 43lb. A northwest record for leather carp and new record on the winsford District AA and a new personal best. My target fish has took me three years, thirty two trips, three originals six stockies three lost making fifteen bites in all.
